I am writing to thank you for the wonderful day we had at the October 1, 2011 fishing tournament at Clearwater Beach. This was our first tournament and we are already looking forward to the next one. My son Giovanni had such a great day fishing. The fish he caught were bait fish and the size of his thumb, but that did not matter to the volunteers helping out that day. They made such a big deal out of them and measured every one. He felt so proud of himself and couldn’t stop smiling at his accomplishments. Your volunteers really went out of their way to make all the kids feel special. I have to especially thank Cody and Ashley for helping Gio have such a great day. They went above and beyond to help out. Thank you so much to them!!! I would have never thought that catching tiny fish could make my son so happy. He talked about it all day and showed everyone his metal and trophy. We are looking forward to next year.
Sincerely,
- Jill LoSchiavo, Gio’s mom |
I wanted to write to thank you for a wonderful experience I had at your October 2nd Clearwater Beach Pier 60 fishing tournament. It was amazing! As the proud mother of two autistic children, Tristan and Morgan Miller, you made me cry. It was such an emotional day to watch my children participate and have so much fun. We are new to the area so it was our first year attending the event. My husband said it was the best day he has had with the kids. Your volunteers were exceptional- they were the kindest people I have come in contact with for quite some time. The event was flawless. Anything my family needed was provided to us before we even had to ask. Every aspect of the event was quick and simple. From the beginning to the end of the event, I cannot think of one thing I did find amazing. Seriously, from the parking first thing in the morning to the conclusion of the award ceremony- AMAZING! You did such a great job of including every kid which was remarkable due to the huge turnout. You measured every fish no matter how small, every child got a gold medal, and you gave enough prizes that my son thought it was Christmas! :) I will never forget the looks on their little faces, they were so proud of themselves. I can never repay you for providing them the opportunity to experience that feeling. Every child should feel like they are a winner! God Bless all of you for doing this for all of these amazing children. It is Sunday evening and my children are still wearing their medals and my husband and I have bragged to every family member and friend that would listen about how spectacular the tournament was. It was really wonderful. Thank you so much for giving me a priceless memory. I cannot wait until next year. Thank you for being so kind to my children.
See you all next year!

i absolutely have to take the time to say thank you to everyone who made this year's (12th Annual Kids Tournament - Pier 60) event possible. My family had such an amazing afternoon. i can't tell you all how much this meant to my nephew Dylan Kelley to participate in this. This was his second year attending, but it was my first time taking him there It's really good to know that there are such good people still out there just doing nice things for others - not because you have to you all of you do this voluntarily, and we thank you for that. I'm sure it's not easy to put on such a large event like that. Just know that you all are making a huge difference in the quality of life for all the families that were there. For a lot of us having a disabled child is a financial strain, and many of us may not get the opportunity to do such cool things with them that often. All of you made our family feel really welcome. We were looked at no different. Everyone just saw children who wanted to go fishing with their families, despite the differences on the outside. From the minute we arrived on the pier with the painting and marine animals. To the time we left in tow with dylan's new monster stereo he won. He didn't stop smiling from ear to ear. We all had a blast! This was such an awesome experience for us all. So again thank you for all of your time, effort, money, and heart that was put in to this. You are all heroes in our eyes!
Sincerely,
Dylan Kelley and Family |

| I just wanted to thank everyone for a great time and a wonderful experience year after year. This is the fourth year I have taken my niece, Adrianna Fiorentino to the Pier 60 fishing tournament and we also joined you at the Largo tournament this year. The first year we went Adrianna'a mom had asked me to take her and I didn't know what to expect, I thought a couple of kids from her school would be there. When we arrived I was overcome with emotion at how many kids were out there and how many volunteers and all that you had to offer. Adrianna won a trophy that year for prettiest fish and she was so proud and excited. We enjoy ourselves year after year, it is one of very few places we can go and Adrianna can be herself and everyone is kind and comments and questions about her disability aren't an issue .I once again just wanted to say Thank you to everyone for a fantastic time. Adrianna isn't very excited by the fishing she only touches a fishing pole for the picture but she loves coming out and socializing. This year we were at the awards show and a couple with their 3 children were there and two of the children won boom boxes and they turned around and gave one to Adrianna stating they didn't need 2. I thought I had gotten through the day without shedding a tear but I couldn't help it at that moment it was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. The little girl that gave her the radio was happier giving it away than winning it. We look forward to next year. Keep up the good work.

| To whom it may concern,
I just wanted to applaud you very, very, much for the wonderfully great job that was done Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003 at Clearwater/St Pete, Fl Pier 60. I was totally speechless when I saw the happiness and fun the children were having. I, along with some of my co-workers brought a bus load of disabled children to experience the excitement of fishing. A a disabled adult, I was totally amazed at the welcome the children received. I must admit, I've never seen so many caring, organized people in one place. I really appreciated the fact that everyone made sure every child came home with some kind of reward, and a smile on their face just for participating.
In closing, I would like to thank-you again for letting us participate in this tournament. Also, I have seen your website that you have a tournament for disabled adults. If you would please send me some info I would appreciate it.
Sincerely,
Lori |
